A feature of the STEG D Class amplifiers line is the very low distortion that they can maintain even at very low loads. Thanks to the LOW TOLERANCE OF PASSIVE COMPONENTS AND THE ACCURATE LAYOUT DESIGN, which reduce power losses to a minimum and make excellent performance. The components used are of the selected type and of particular value, low tolerance resistors and capacitors are used, high linearity polyester coupling capacity with low thermal drift and specially designed for audio applications. The choice of each single device has been studied down to the smallest details, each element finds its best place in the delicate electrical balances of the system in order to ensure exceptional performance, invariable over time.
NIKO 1.7000, designed for the most difficult SPL challenges where the power supply conditions, load impedance are really extreme. Stabilized power supply up to 10 volts, with 24 mosfets of 160A each capable of handling currents up to 4000A in input and able to work with loads up to 0.5 ohm output. Completely separate the two power supply parts to prevent disturbance between the two supply branches and to reduce significant power losses and the risk of breakage. Particular attention was paid to the protection circuits, for temperature, short output, low power supply, unbalance of a supply branch due to a different input voltage. This amp rachhiudes all the features to be the first in the class ...
PROTECTION SYSTEM
The NIKO 1.7000 integrates various protection systems to control the following functions:
Output short-circuit
Direct current at the ends of the speakers
Raising the temperature
Muting in the ignition transient
Supply voltage out of range
Intelligent "INTELLISPEED" fan control
Power input unbalance between the two connectors
The numerous "sensors" on the circuit send a continuous data stream that is processed at very high speed, the protection system reacts instantly, intervening appropriately and signaling any malfunctions through the LEDs on the control panel. The other protection system is managed by the modulator which monitors the switching circuit on the final stage.
GR.I.P.S. - Ground Improved Path System
In order to avoid the generation of ground loops in the connection between car radio and power amplifier, in the past numerous devices and systems have been adopted, among which the separation of the mass of the amplifier from that of the car battery. This system proved to be particularly effective and reliable, so much so that the major Hi-Fi car manufacturers have done so by adopting it in their realizations and using it up to today's times. In recent years, with the advent of electronic injections, this system begins to prove insufficient because it is more effective on disturbances of electrical origin but is less efficient compared to those of an electromagnetic nature. Steg designed the GR.I.P.S. system capable of breaking down both types of noise, an alternative to balanced lines, and with the advantage of not degrading the sound quality, while maintaining compatibility with existing connections. The GR.I.P.S. isolates each input mass from the others, avoiding the generation of rings even in multi-amplified, multichannel realizations and also reduces installation time, always ensuring maximum sound quality
INTELLISPEED - Intelligent cooling fans power regulator
The efficiency of the D '' Class cooling system is among the highest on the market. The extraordinary dissipation characteristics are the result of innovative design choices, including the Intellispeed dynamic forced ventilation system controlled by the microprocessor. The high dissipating power of the fin profile is combined with the effectiveness of the 6 fans integrated into the side tunnels, positioned to convey cold air to the most suitable points. The integrated sensors continuously monitor the thermal / electrical conditions of the transistors and diodes, communicating with the microprocessor in real time. The control system, by interpreting the detections, reacts with the intelligent management of the fans, activating them when the heatsink temperature exceeds 40 ° C. When the ventilation is switched on, the software controls its flow, varying the rotation speed of the fans according to the parameters acquired so as to always guarantee the best working conditions of the D '' Class.
